Bosphorus Bridge is a bridge in Istanbul, Turkey. Its significance is related to many factors; being one of two bridges connecting the Asian side of Istanbul and the european side; forth longest suspension bridge when built; and 15th today.
In a lecture in Sharjah University last Tuesday, A professor whose name has slipped my memory (probably Aysa Seba), has explained the significance of the 2 bridges that connect the two sides of istanbul together and the effects of those on the massive development of the city, that resulted in it being one of the four mega-cities in eaurope alongside London, Paris, and Moscow. As well as the new Marmaray project that aims to build a third bridge in order to ease the transition to both sides.

Aside that Urban dimension to the structure, many events have taken place on its deck such as the first tennis game ever to be played on two continents, and F1 driver David Coulthard to cross the bridge with his RedBull GP car, and turning back with a powerslide and backwards, in addition to him paying EUR 20 as a fine for crossing the toll booths without paying a month later.
