Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) seems to be working really hard on fixing Amman’s image, first with the billboard regulations that I’m absolutely mixed up on because I haven’t found anything official on the topic yet, and secondly because this whole Billboard Vs. Architecture thing has been confusing me for a while now. But From what I understand from this, there is a debate on solutions to replace those trashy clusters of billboards, and perhaps as well, the greedy industry.

Moreover, GAM is cooperating with National Paints, and they’re going to paint buldings in poor areas of Amman! Neat! It’s strange how a change of administration could sound so prosperous, Mayor Omar Maani’s management is planning for a lot of new projects, such as the new Tower’s strategy, Corridor development, and they’re already working on a new master-plan for the city that will make Amman twice as big as it is today by 2008!
Amman is no longer just white stone, its now Stone and a colorful palette.
